"In the age of macro security, the issue of Internet security demands a comprehensive solution which, from a technical perspective, points to the Brain of Security," said Zhou Hongyi, co-founder and CEO of the Chinese Internet security giant 360 Co., on Tuesday, as reported by the Xinhua Net.

Zhou made this remark while delivering a keynote speech during the Internet Security Conference (ISC) which is being held in Beijing from Tuesday through Thursday.

In his opinion, in an age of what he calls macro security where all things are programmable and interconnected through the Internet, cyber attacks could lead to disastrous consequences.

"As the threat to the Internet security grows bigger and bigger, it is critical for us to build a brain of security with such cutting-end technologies as big data and artificial intelligent (AI), which will be the best way to cope with the security threat over the next five to ten years," said Zhou.

The idea of "Brain of Security", which was proposed by the 360 Co. this May, is to utilize technologies like big data and AI to process all the security-related data collected by hundreds of millions of sensors which will then send these data to the cloud of the Brain of Security for storage and computing.

Zhou stressed that the company is willing to share this idea with other Internet security firms. "Our aim is to empower rather than compete with our peers," he said, adding that with this mindset, it is possible for 360 to build a broad ecosystem in China's internet security industry.

According to Aqniu.com, a Beijing-based media platform focusing on the area of information security, the size of China's internet security market is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan (USD 14.62 billion) by 2020.
