With the theme of "share global wisdom, lead the future of science and technology", the 2018 World Forum on Scientific and Technological Innovation will be held in Beijing from Friday evening through Sunday, according to Caijing.com Friday morning.

The forum, which is jointly hosted by Houyi Holding and the Chinese business journal Caijing, is aimed at discussing the latest technological achievements around the globe and drawing a blueprint on the technological innovations for China.

During the forum, 20 some Nobel laureates in such fields as physics, chemistry, physiology and economics, as well as dozens of Chinese business leaders, are expected to share their thoughts in several keynote speeches as well as panel discussions.

There will be eight plenary sessions to be held during the forum, with their themes focused on the new economic landscape for the future, the revolution of the standardization of artificial intelligence, new materials as a new growth driver for the manufacturing industry, challenges and opportunities in the space exploration, flood of data and cloud computing, smart cities, fintech-empowered new economy, and innovation and investment in biotechnology.

Now that technological innovation has become increasingly critical for countries which are striving to win the global competition, the forum is expected to find a way for China to achieve its goal of replacing old growth drivers with new ones and upgrading its industrial structure with the help of technological innovation.
