Alibaba Cloud released a large-scale visual computing platform named Tianqing, under the ET City Brain lately, which is its fourth artificial intelligence (AI) visual product.
As the cloud computing arm and a business unit of the Alibaba Group, Alibaba Cloud provides a comprehensive suite of global cloud computing services to power both international customers' online businesses and the Alibaba Group's e-commerce ecosystem.
The ET Brain is Alibaba Cloud's ultra-intelligent AI platform for solving complicated business and social problems and contains six different sections, including the ET City Brain, the ET Industrial Brain, the ET Medical Brain and so forth.
Utilizing comprehensive real-time city data, the ET City Brain holistically optimizes urban-public resources by instantly correcting defects that may arise in urban operations. This has led to numerous breakthroughs in governmental urban models, service models and industrial development.
The Tianqing system is an engine that the ET City Brain uses to process video information, and is responsible for handling extensive video image information into the binary language in the shortest time possible, to provide a foundation for subsequent vehicle recognition and pedestrian identification. This system can speed up video analysis by a thousand times, and it takes only one second to complete the processing of a 16-hour video.
The value of the Tianqing system is inestimable. If the system is implemented on a large scale basis, using the existing "Skynet" video surveillance system, it is easy and quick to find a car or a person through video analysis.
A machine vision technology has been widely applied in many fields and will bring revolutionary changes to our lives, production and work.
It is predicted that in the following years, the scale of the Chinese machine vision industry will continue to grow steadily, and the extent of the market for machine vision technology is expected to reach RMB 100 billion.
